Okay, yes I had a sunglasses change. I love them both so much - couldn't decide!

I spent some time away from New York this week to visit family. A major part of my time home was spending the days with my 1 1/2 year old nephew who is a walking and baby talking machine. I noticed something very interesting that he does when you have treats that he wants (like candy, juice, popsicles) - instead of begging or whining for it, he just excitedly says "thank you!" over and over until you give it to him. It seems that he is doing this for two reasons - one, to let you know that it is something that he wants; and two, because he knows he will get it and already feels thankful for it. Isn't this a perfect example of how we should handle life? How we should be thankful for what is coming to us even before we receive it? Even when what we are praying for isn't in our hands, we should remember to say "thank you!" for the dreams, for the lessons, for the faith and for the growth that comes with waiting. And "thank you!" for the joy of receiving.
"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers - most of which are never even seen - don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I am trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving." Matthew 6:30-33 MSG
