In fashion we are always talking about a new trend "having a moment" - "tassels are having their moment", "it's a big moment for off the shoulder". Just a way of describing a trend that has caught on, and seems like it could have a lasting influence on the trends of that season. While at Hillsong Conference last week, there was a session titled "I will make the most of this moment". It was about taking your every day, routine, superordinary actions and finding the moment of growth and learning inside of them. About approaching even the most mundane things with the mindset that "this could be a moment" - this could be the thing that changes the course of my life. The speaker acknowledged that it may be easier (and more comfortable) to just press autopilot and go through the motions, but doing this could push us to really miss the new and great things coming our way. This is my challenge to myself - to greet each new experience with the thought that this could be the small, ordinary task that could change everything.
I have so many "just hit by a bug" outtakes
"Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life-and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. " Romans 12:1 (MSG)
